Also included is our specialized blue plastic tool, a fantastic tool that opens your iPod mini without scratching it. This durable plastic tool has a sharp, wedge-shaped tip that's perfect for slipping into the tight seam between the white end caps and the metal casing, and has a long handle that allows you to firmly grasp the tool. Other companies suggest using a metal screwdriver (please don't do this!) or saddle you with two cheap tools that are so flimsy, the tip bends and quickly becomes worthless. And then what do you do? Only we have this specially designed tool to efficiently open your device. Also included is a set of mini screwdrivers to remove two small screws and a metal clip from inside the player.

This kit also includes a set of the most detailed instructions available today. From the Tech Bench: "Plan to spend 15 – 30 minutes on this project. Removing the white end caps and two small screws from inside the iPod mini is pretty straightforward, a process made much easier with the iOpener and set of mini screwdrivers. Once you get past this, it's just a matter of disconnecting a small connector, sliding out the internal chassis, replacing the battery, sliding everything back into the metal casing, and replacing the white end caps. This battery is a little thicker than the original battery inside your iPod mini (one of the reasons for its' increased playtime), but with a little extra persistence, it will fit inside the case. Just take your time, go slow, follow the directions, and you'll be all set."
