A Nice, Big Screen

The iPad is the newest tech hit on the market, and it is a larger tablet that allows you to conveniently read books because of the roomy screen. Basically, you can start out by thinking of an iPod touch with a screen that is 10 inches. This makes it much easier on the eyes to play games, read downloadable books, and look at pictures. It also has a beautifully sleek design, and did I mention the large screen?

It seems that this device has nice high def power, so you will see everything with much more clarity, including three hours of continuous HD playback after charging the battery. If you are someone who is into e-books and EMagazines, then you're absolutely going to love the use of this device because it will allow you to download an EMagazine Reader to see everything in colorful animation. This is the way of the future, and now you have the ability to see all of the fullness in life that you would normally find on your computer screen in a smaller form that you can take with you anywhere. My only concern is the need for an iPad repair service because it seems that the big screen could break easily!

Duckhunt On The iPod touch

Does anyone else miss the old game Duck Hunt? I definitely do, and I remember playing it on my Nintendo all of the time when I was a kid. Now I can relive those wonderful days anytime that I like because there is a Duckhunt application for the iPod touch. This is something that I absolutely adore, and I am constantly getting made fun of by my friends because I play it all the time.

I don't know what it is about throw back Nintendo games, but they make me feel so nostalgic. That's why I am all about this app, and I want to spread the word because it is so fun to play old Nintendo games on your iPod touch. This game has not really changed much because you still pretty much spend your time shooting at a duck or clay disks, but it's still something that I enjoy. Old Nintendo was really simple, which is something that I miss about it when I play other complex video games. The newer video games obviously have awesome features, but I still miss the simplicity of Nintendo because it reminds me of my childhood. For anyone else who feels the same way, check out this app!

Phone Calls From The iPod Touch

I am all about the use of my iPod touch, and I recently read this pretty interesting blog discussing how to make phone calls from an iPod touch. I had no idea that was something that you could actually do, especially since it wasn't technically an iPhone. The main reason that I didn't get an iPhone was because I do not have AT&T, and I feel like I have signed my soul away to Verizon. I would like to make a tangent and say how I absolutely hate how cell phone companies have you locked into a contract for two years at a time. It's truly not fair, especially if new technology like the iPhone comes out, and I can even use it.

Anyway, I did read this blog about how you can jailbreak your iPod touch so that you can make phone calls from it directly. This was an option that I considered, but I was really worried about damaging my device. You also do have to get head phones that are compatible to the iPod touch to make this phone call. It seems like a pretty simple process, but I guess I am just nervous about breaking my device. I think that I will do a little research to find out how safe this actually is...

Fragile iPhone Screens

I think that so far I am one of the lucky ones, but I cannot tell you how many times I have seen friends drop their iPhones or iPod touches and crack the screens! Now, don't get me wrong - an iPhone is an amazingly useful device, and I am totally in love with mine. However, I was reluctant to get one in the first place because I know that I am such a clumsy person. In fact, I don't even want to tell this story, but I did drop one of my older cell phones in the toilet, which totally destroyed it.

What happened was, I had it in my purse, so when I went to leave the stall of the bathroom, it somehow flipped out and went into the toilet. Completely tragic, but I was scared about the same fate for my expensive iPhone device. Luckily for me, my iPhone is still completely intact (knock on wood), but you better believe that I am being so careful with it. I have had about four or five friends crack the screens on their iPhones and need iPhone repair. Luckily, it is fairly inexpensive, but I am doing my best to keep the screen of my device protected!

What's Up With The Next Gen iPod Touch?

It's always fun to speculate, and there are rumors swirling around about the next generation of iPod touch. It is said that it will contain a built-in microphone and also a video camera. These seem like wonderful new innovations, and people are speculating that these rumors could potentially be true. Apple did not comment on the rumors, but we, as iPod touch fans, are hoping that they are correct.

The iPod touch will be updated later in the year, and if it does have a built-in microphone, then it will be so much easier to use any voice applications for the iPod touch. This would enable the device to be used as a WiFi mobile phone so that you could make any type of voice call directly over the Internet, giving similar communication capabilities as to what you would find with the iPhone. Right now, the iPod touch does enable the use of a microphone, but you do need to buy an extra accessory to get that set up. iPod touch users can keep their ears open in September because that is normally when Apple releases their updates. Regardless, it's always exciting to see what type of new technology surrounds both the iPod touch and the iPhone - we are fans!

Real World Cancún - Ow!

I, of course, am a sucker for a terrible reality television, so you must expect that I am on the edge of my seat for every episode of Real World Cancun. Side note, I can't believe that they have had so many seasons, and I have enjoyed every single one of them. Anyway, I am loving this cast already because they are totally dramatic, especially since they got in a huge feud about someone spitting on someone else's taco. I love the fact that that was a complete threat to the entire household, and then they feared that this "spitter" may spit on all of them because he didn't respect them. Horrifying!

Even though I can poke fun at them, I am still watching every moment of it and loving it. The great news that I found out on the commercial break was that I can download episodes to my iPod touch, so that is pretty much all that I need in life. Before you make fun of me too much, just check out an episode for yourself. It is definitely the kind of thing that you don't want to say that you are watching, but you also don't want to turn it off. I told you so.

Catching Up On Grey's Anatomy

I am pretty sure that I am totally behind on the times, but for some odd reason I haven't been watching Grey's Anatomy for the past several years. The weird part is that I was totally obsessed with the first few seasons, and then I dropped off in my loyalty, probably because my life got too busy. Then, out of the blue, I have been catching the reruns of the last season on Lifetime, and I am so addicted. It is as if my obsession never stopped!

Don't get me wrong, I am pretty confused because I missed like two seasons of the story lines since I have started watching the very last season again, but the plot lines are still as good with the awesome music that makes me cry and has my boyfriend looking at me like I'm crazy. He is actually a total sweetheart and downloaded the third season for me so that I can watch it on my iPod touch. This is fun because I can catch up on this season that I downloaded while on my lunch break at work, making it a fun little treat to look forward to in my day. That's kind of lame to admit, but it is the truth. Thank God for Grey's Anatomy!

Music Helps Me Cook

I have always loved to cook and create amazing new recipes based on the ones that I already know. Of course, this was way before the day and age of iPod technology, so now I have my very own iPod touch, which has changed the quality of my cooking forever. Now when I'm in the kitchen, I can put on an upbeat playlist that energizes me and seems to get my creative juices flowing to create and concoct even better recipes for my dinner.

Right now I am focusing on different fusion dishes, like southern Asian styles incorporating barbecue tastes, as odd as that sounds! The truth of the matter is that when I can zone out and focus by listening to my iPod while I'm cooking, my dishes are so much better than they've ever been before. I know that my family is happy because they are really loving all of the new experiments I am creating that they get to taste test every night at dinner. I just have to keep an eye out that I don't make so much food that we all get too fat from trying it! Thank God I use my iPod for working out too because otherwise I would be in trouble...

iPods at War?

The latest iPod news is quite interesting because as it turns out, the US military is actually giving each of their soldiers an iPod touch. I personally think that it's a forward move that our government is supplying our soldiers with such a technologically sound device. I have known several people in my age group who gone off to Iraq, so it's pretty comforting to know that they have the best help available to adapt to combat. But what exactly are they using the iPod touch for? One of the main reasons that they are given this device is because it can help them with routes and maps during combat, it also is a great tool to help with the language and cultural barrier. This is something that can help coordinate an entire military troop in a quick amount of time!

So not only does your iPod touch offer cool apps, but you can be happy to know that is also being used in pretty important situations in protecting our country. I'm sure that the soldiers are pleased to have a great gadget to listen to all of their music on, and even more so, something to help them adapt to their dangerous environment. Apple must feel proud!
