What the Heck is Tuna Tartare?

One of the things that I have been using my iPhone for lately is some extreme cooking. This is not something that I am normally accustomed to, but I have to admit that I am tempted by all of the recipe apps on my iPhone! I have always watched Top Chef, and I have wondered what some of the fancier items are, and also how difficult they may be to create. The first item on my list was tuna tartare, but I didn't know exactly what it was...

I started researching it on my iPhone, and I found out that tartare is chopped raw fish that is specially seasoned. It is something used as a spread for toast or bread, or it can even be served by itself in a special dish. One of the recipes that I began with was fairly simple, but it had a little bit of Asian flair to the tuna tartare. It contained lime juice, wasabi powder, soy sauce, red pepper, avocados, and jalapeno peppers. This ended up making a fun little dish that a few of my friends enjoyed, and I promise you that they were highly impressed that I was able to pull off this culinary skill with only the help of my iPhone!

Food Network On Your iPhone!

Even if you are not a foodie, the Food Network can be quite addicting. If you want to take it a step further, you can download this Food Network iPhone application to find a wealth of videos and healthy recipes at your fingertips. You are given the opportunity to search through a number of recipes, so that should keep you busy for quite a while. For instance, if you are having some friends over who are vegetarians, then you may want to search for vegetarian entrées to find something delicious for all of you to enjoy.

This app also features holiday favorite recipes, or you can even search by your favorite chef. For the holidays, what do you think about Butternut Squash Lasagna? Swedish Meatballs? Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip? Baked Mashed Potatoes with Parmesan Cheese and Bread Crumbs? Now that you are completely hungry from hearing all of these recipes, I'm thinking that you are going to download this iPhone app right away. This is perfect if you are invited to a Christmas party and have no idea what to bring because you can whip up a little something special through a handy recipe on your iPhone. It will be good enough to compete with the pros!

Music Helps Me Cook

I have always loved to cook and create amazing new recipes based on the ones that I already know. Of course, this was way before the day and age of iPod technology, so now I have my very own iPod touch, which has changed the quality of my cooking forever. Now when I'm in the kitchen, I can put on an upbeat playlist that energizes me and seems to get my creative juices flowing to create and concoct even better recipes for my dinner.

Right now I am focusing on different fusion dishes, like southern Asian styles incorporating barbecue tastes, as odd as that sounds! The truth of the matter is that when I can zone out and focus by listening to my iPod while I'm cooking, my dishes are so much better than they've ever been before. I know that my family is happy because they are really loving all of the new experiments I am creating that they get to taste test every night at dinner. I just have to keep an eye out that I don't make so much food that we all get too fat from trying it! Thank God I use my iPod for working out too because otherwise I would be in trouble...
