If you are a vegetarian, you may be increasingly frustrated eating out with your dietary restrictions. Often times, vegetarians will have to order something off the menu, like a strange and specially made entrée that doesn't include meat. It's almost not fair! If that is the type of frustration that you are enduring every time you go out to eat, you may want to download the VegOut iPhone app, which is a specific restaurant guide for vegetarians.

Instead of having a difficult time trying to find the right place to eat out, you will have a list on hand of vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurants that you can choose instead. This is perfect for any traveling vegetarian who needs to find a delicious and healthy place to eat without meat, of course. You can have vegetarian friendly restaurants mapped out in your area, so you can decide what the closest and best options may be for you to have a delicious meal. You don't necessarily need meat to have a good time, as any vegetarian can tell you, but it can become increasingly frustrating if you can't find a decent vegetarian meal. Stop any problems before they start with this vegetarian dining iPhone app!

by Carla

The Perfect iPhone App for Your Baby

Anyone who has children knows how difficult it is to get them to sleep! For this reason, one of the iPhone apps that I have been raving about lately is Baby Sleep. Seriously, you can buy this for less than a dollar, and you will be kissing your iPhone by the time it is done. Even though that is not necessarily a good idea since it could probably cause water damage or smear the screen of the phone... Anyhow, this iPhone app will give you gentle music to lull your baby to sleep. All you have to do is start the app on the iPhone, and it will start playing lullabies for your baby.

This is quite relaxing, and if you are a new mother, I have to warn you that you may be falling asleep yourself. That's not necessarily a bad idea since we all know how important it is to try to catch naps when you can as a new parent. The bottom line is that if you want your child to nap right away, give them a little bit of this relaxation in this iPhone app. I tell you what, this has really come a long way from those creaky musical mobiles of my childhood!

by Jenna

Wanna Live Better?

One pretty interesting iPhone app that has caught my eye is 101 ways to Improve your Life. Is it really as good as it sounds? If you are feeling listless, depressed, and not really like getting out of bed in the morning, then this little app boasts being the life-saving tool that you are looking for. This app is going to give you guidance to turn your life around and begin to enjoy your days with helpful advice on how to exercise, develop your intelligence, and even eat better.

Basically, this iPhone app will give you instant motivation, and you can also bookmark tips that you enjoyed to share them with your friends through e-mail, Twitter, and Facebook. As an example, there are motivational tips available, like not sweating the small stuff because life is too short. If you are hoping for a little bit of everyday inspiration, this may be the perfect app for you. I don't know if it will cure a deep depression, but it does offer some fun and helpful tips for finances, intimacy, love, families, life, nutrition, and relationships. I guess it can't hurt to give it a spin to improve your life in a few simple ways!

by Drew

Who Doesn't Love the iPad?

Why on earth are people signing a petition against the iPad? Around 5000 people gave a digital signature to a petition against the iPad, which is petitioning the CEO of Apple to remove digital rights from the contents of the device. What this basically means is that the digital rights allow Apple to block competing products, disable certain features, delete books, delete news, and other functions without permission from the user. This is something that up to 5000 people disagree with, and they made their statement online.

The bottom line is that is potentially nitpicky when you think of all that the iPad has to offer. Do these people have iPad envy? This is a helpful device that you can use to read a book, download a map, check an e-mail, among a number of other functions. I am more than happy to give it a shot, and my only concern is the need for iPad repair parts since the screen seems so delicate. I have done a little bit of research online, and there are already several popular companies able to repair the iPad, which is a load off my shoulders in case anything were to break on me.

by Curt

What the Heck is Tuna Tartare?

One of the things that I have been using my iPhone for lately is some extreme cooking. This is not something that I am normally accustomed to, but I have to admit that I am tempted by all of the recipe apps on my iPhone! I have always watched Top Chef, and I have wondered what some of the fancier items are, and also how difficult they may be to create. The first item on my list was tuna tartare, but I didn't know exactly what it was...

I started researching it on my iPhone, and I found out that tartare is chopped raw fish that is specially seasoned. It is something used as a spread for toast or bread, or it can even be served by itself in a special dish. One of the recipes that I began with was fairly simple, but it had a little bit of Asian flair to the tuna tartare. It contained lime juice, wasabi powder, soy sauce, red pepper, avocados, and jalapeno peppers. This ended up making a fun little dish that a few of my friends enjoyed, and I promise you that they were highly impressed that I was able to pull off this culinary skill with only the help of my iPhone!

by Jennifer

A Nice, Big Screen

The iPad is the newest tech hit on the market, and it is a larger tablet that allows you to conveniently read books because of the roomy screen. Basically, you can start out by thinking of an iPod touch with a screen that is 10 inches. This makes it much easier on the eyes to play games, read downloadable books, and look at pictures. It also has a beautifully sleek design, and did I mention the large screen?

It seems that this device has nice high def power, so you will see everything with much more clarity, including three hours of continuous HD playback after charging the battery. If you are someone who is into e-books and EMagazines, then you're absolutely going to love the use of this device because it will allow you to download an EMagazine Reader to see everything in colorful animation. This is the way of the future, and now you have the ability to see all of the fullness in life that you would normally find on your computer screen in a smaller form that you can take with you anywhere. My only concern is the need for an iPad repair service because it seems that the big screen could break easily!

by Elle

Travel To Portland!

One of the latest fun things that I have been doing with my iPhone is looking up various travel guides to see what cities I would like to add to my list of places to visit. I looked at an intricate travel guide on my iPhone for Portland, and it seems to have a number of different features, including Japanese Gardens, International Rose Test Gardens, and even a museum of Contemporary Craft.

If you are the outdoorsy type, you can take a bicycle ride around the Colombia River, and there are even weeklong bicycle tours available beginning in Portland. For beautiful dining, it's also a great idea to try the Stone Cliff Inn, which is up on a cliff overlooking the river and forests. Portland also has the fun cultural phenomenon of food carts, meaning that you can check out public areas of the city and purchase a number of different items, ranging from pizza to pitas, from a food cart on the street. The bottom line is that this is a city full of interesting travel ideas, and you can access all of these suggestions directly from your iPhone during your stay. Normally, I make it a priority to check out the day's headlines from my trusty iPhone because that is one of my favorite uses for it. I have a number of different websites saved that I can look at, and I'm especially addicted to checking out social bookmarking sites on my iPhone.

That being said, I am completely freaked out by this sheep that gave birth to a dead lamb that had a human face. Totally shocking! Apparently, a vet removed the dead lamb from the sheep with a cesarean section, and it seemed to have human features. This is a very rare instance, and it seems to be a deformity because the lamb's mother had an excessive intake of vitamin A. Last September, there was a goat in Zimbabwe that gave birth in similar circumstances. This goat baby had a head similar to a human, and it was alive until several villagers killed it because it was so disturbing.

I'm not sure to what to make of all of these circumstances except to be reminded of GoatBoy from SNL. One fun game along those lines is Labyrinth, which is a classic game you may recognize. Basically, you will work to get a steel ball through a wooden labyrinth by tilting your iPhone. This actually used to be a live game with a real little ball in the labyrinth, but now you can download it and play it on your iPhone.

Be prepared because there are 1000 different levels! You can download new levels through the game, and there are such additions, like optional 3-D walls that allow you to change your perspective when you tilt your phone. There are also simulations of falling through holes to make the whole thing more realistic. If you feel a little bit intimidated by the old Labyrinth game, then you don't have to worry because there are easy beginner levels if you are just starting out. And there is sound! These are games that I remember you could get from the quarter machine at an arcade, and now they are all jazzed up and fancy in this downloadable iPhone application.

by Ellen

Aww... When your child is growing, you definitely want to capture all of the candid moments available, and now you have that convenience with the quality of pictures taken by your iPhone. This app works in a special way because it has a sound button to play songs, drums, bells, and even doorbells to catch the attention of your child.

We all know how difficult it can be to get your baby to smile for the camera in a professional picture, but now you have the opportunity to interact with them to catch their attention for the simpler moments in life. You can also use the QuadCamera app to take up to eight continuous pictures of your child in motion, which is perfect when they are playing, running, or swinging on a swing. These are the moments that your child is going to remember, and you can easily upload them to your computer to e-mail to family members and friends! This is far more advanced than the days of an old photo album, and you can capture your child's earliest years easily and beautifully with this handy iPhone app.

by Sara

Shape Up With This iPhone App

When it comes to getting in shape for the holidays, it can often require quite a bit of motivation on your part. And how are you even supposed to find the extra time between holiday parties, family gatherings, and happy hour after work with friends who have come into town? One of the easiest ways to get your butt in gear is to use the FitnessBuilder app on your iPhone!

This is a handy exercise app that has images, videos, and pre-planned workouts. This is something that is going to help you out if you only have 20 minutes to spare per day, and it will also give you the option to tone up within just a few days before the new year. This is a more expensive app at almost $20, but it is worth it because it is like investing in your own personal trainer. One of the main motivating factors of using this app is that it is incredibly convenient. You can carry it around with you anywhere you are, and you can also estimate how many calories you have burned over the holidays. This is something that will keep you in shape, even when visiting your family for Christmas!

by Claire

Does Facebook Pose a Risk To You?

Unless you have been under a rock for the past several years, you probably have a profile on Facebook. You have also probably found that your aunt, grandmother, or third-grade teacher has a profile as well and wants to be your friend. Facebook is an incredibly convenient social media website, and you have even more opportunities to use it if you have one of the many Facebook iPhone applications available to you. This offers you the convenience of updating your profile on the go, where ever you are at.

Right now, there are 300 million users on Facebook, and that includes people from all walks of life. There are a few risks posed to you on Facebook, and one of them is who you accept as your friends. If you have accepted friends from work or even your boss, then you may slip up and write an update about how you hate your job and your boss, only to find out that you are in trouble at work the next day. Oops! On that note, it's also important to protect your privacy, with no-brainer information like your address or credit card number, to keep yourself safe on your profile.

by Krista

Christmas Party Planning Tips

Christmas is upon us, and if you have family or friends coming over for the holidays, then you may either be excited or pulling your hair out due to the stress. I decided to look up a bunch of different Christmas party planning tips on my iPhone so that it can make your gathering that much less stressful. One of the biggest suggestions is to prepare simpler dishes so that cooking does not overtake your entire day.

Consider making a variety of different snacks for your family on Christmas Eve, or ask everyone to bring a different dish. One very popular and easy dish to make for Christmas that will make you look like a cooking pro is mussels with white wine sauce. You can easily pick up mussels already prepared from the grocery store, and you can cook them over pasta with a white wine and lemon butter sauce. There are many different easy appetizer ideas available for Christmas, but make sure that you feel confident in the dish that you are preparing so that it doesn’t go wrong and ruin your holiday party. Christmas is a wonderful time to spend with your family and friends, and there is no reason to stress out about planning your party or holiday gathering!

by Glen

Do You Still Like Star Wars?

I found some interesting information when I was looking up the best Christmas gifts for 2009 on my iPhone. Are you ready? If you are still a fan of Star Wars collectibles and toys, then you may be happy to know that they are very high on the list for Christmas 2009. Even better, since so many people now have devices like the iPhone where they can directly shop online from their mobile device, online shopping is more popular than ever!

Very high on the list for the best Christmas gifts for 2009 is still Star Wars toys and collectibles, which may be perfect for the Star Wars lover in your life this year. If you are shopping online, make sure to search for Star Wars promotional codes so that you can get a discounted deal on your purchases. Many large online retailers also offer bargains for these collectibles, which makes them a perfect steal since they are often hard to find in store locations. Instead of scouring the mall and trying to find something for the geek or Star Wars lover in your life (only kidding!), it is much better to look online on your iPhone for some amazing bargains.

by Anne

Food Network On Your iPhone!

Even if you are not a foodie, the Food Network can be quite addicting. Recent studies have shown that listening to the right music will make your workout more efficient. Since you can expect to be ingesting thousands of calories on Thanksgiving day, you can also take preemptive measures against this potential weight gain by using music to help you work out smarter.

It seems that most recently, Nike and Apple have been working together to promote this combination regarding music and exercise. According to research, it seems that runners in London who were running a half marathon enjoyed listening to their iPods or live music when they were running. However, it is important which songs you choose for your iPod because they do need to be motivating and have musicality, association, rhythm response, and cultural impact. This basically means that you need to choose something that will keep you motivated and pumped up when you're exercising, and it is also helpful if it is a current and popular song that you like. The runners in the study also performed better when the rhythm of the song matched their cadence or heartbeat.

by Jonas

Budget Better With Your iPhone

Life can get pretty hectic if you are trying to budget for yourself, let alone your entire family! It's time that you get smart and start budgeting with the Spend app from your iPhone. Obviously, the iPhone is a convenient handheld device that you can take with you anywhere on the go. The point of the matter is to start using it when you are spending money on entertainment, grocery shopping, or even going out to dinner.

This is absolutely the best way to keep yourself from getting behind on your monthly bills. This application will allow you to keep track of your daily or weekly budget so that you do not go over. The great part of this is that you don't have to look like an embarrassing penny pincher because you can simply enter all of your monetary information directly into your iPhone. People may even think that you are texting, when really you are recording your expenses to stay on track with your budget. Budgeting is no longer nerdy when you can easily do it on the go with your iPhone to stay on top of your finances. Don't judge me! I always read in middle school and high school, but as an adult I was more into TV and video games. However, I recently went on vacation, and pretty much all I did was relax by the pool in the sun. What a tough life!

I decided that my best bet was to download a bunch of different PDFs of books that I would like to read. I actually had the opportunity to finish the last Harry Potter book in the series, which was really exciting for me. I also downloaded a few other books that I was interested in, and it really is the best way to spend your time, especially since you can even read your iPhone when it is getting dark outside. The only thing that you have to watch out for is water splashing on it, or even a light rain or drizzle. As long as you keep your iPhone protected, then you are completely good to go. This is the best vacation tool for relaxing and recharging your battery! I highly recommend it.

by Aaron

Lady Gaga on My iPod

Maybe I am a little bit behind the times, but I have finally gotten to the point where I am a huge Lady Gaga fan. First of all, I did see her last season on American Idol when she performed. I actually had no idea who she was, but nowadays, all you have to do is turn on the radio, and you will hear five songs in a row from her.

I decided to take matters into my own hands, and I downloaded her latest album onto my iPod. Normally, I am the type of person that only likes pop hits that I've heard before on the radio. I have no idea why that is, but I guess they just stick in my head, and I end up preferring them. I decided to take the time to delve into her album, and I really liked what I heard! I am sad that she is canceling her tour with Kanye, but it seems that they may not have been a good duo anyway. I guess I will have to wait for her to tour on her own because I really would love to see her in concert. For anyone who likes some of her pop hits on the radio, I strongly recommend you download the album!

by Brenda

Potential iPod Volume Restrictions

It seems that Europe is now cracking down on iPods to regulate their volume. They are setting out regulations to govern how loud iPods can be, and they will require a much lower volume than before. This is a new policy that will require all iPods to have a default maximum volume that does not exceed 80 dB. This is supposed to be a very loud sound, and anything that is over that can be dangerous and damaging to the hearing.

Many iPods currently have the potential to go from 115 to 125 dB. Just to put it in perspective, the noise that you would hear on a busy street is 80 dB. 120 to 130 dB is equivalent to the sound of an airplane taking off, which could severely damage your hearing if you listen to an iPod at that volume on a regular basis. This does not mean that you will not be able to exceed that volume restriction, but it just means that the manufacturers will have to create default volumes on the devices to keep the user's hearing from being damaged. However, customers also have the option to disable that default and turn up their volume once again. At your own risk!

by Emily

Katy Perry On Your iPod

I have to admit that I am a sucker for cheesy pop music, but I can't seem to get into Katy Perry for some reason. I do like upbeat pop songs, but her's seem a little bit lame and unrealistic to me. I do have to qualify that with the fact that it did not stop me from downloading some of her songs onto my iPod, but I still am not sure how I feel about them. If you like Katy Perry, then you definitely may like to know that she grew up singing in church, and she got her musical talent from Christian gospel.

That's pretty interesting for someone who sang a song called "I Kissed a Girl". I guess she has changed quite a bit since then! Now she is a number one artist, but oddly enough, the first album that she ever released was also in Christian gospel. Her music is much different now, and you can pretty much see her everywhere - MTV, award shows, you name it. I know many people love her and probably have all of her music on their iPods, but for myself, the jury is still out. That is something that many people may already know, but I never was into eating breakfast. I normally will roll out of bed and try to make it to work on time. I will have a cup of coffee to get me going, but by the time I realize that I am hungry, it's already about 10:30 in the morning.

I was looking at this blog on my iPhone that said that you do need to eat breakfast on a regular basis to stay at a normal weight. I do try to stay in shape, but it turns out that eating a normal breakfast daily is a huge part of that. If you do sleep for eight hours at a time, your body needs to be fueled by the time that you wake-up. If you skip breakfast, then your body has no energy to go through the day, and it will send it into starvation mode. It's also important to eat something that is healthy, like a whole-grain cereal, instead of just a sugary doughnut.

by Ben

Helpful Workout iPhone App

This is actually not another iPhone fitness app because believe me, I have downloaded plenty of them. I do get Women's Health magazine on a regular basis, and I did see an advertisement for their new iPhone app. This app is called Women's Health Workouts. It has 120 different exercises, and you can use them all to create your own fitness plan.

I will tell you the reason that this app is so appealing to me. I really like working out, but many times, I have to take a bulky fitness book with me to the gym so that I can see all of the exercises that I need to do. The only other option is to hire a personal trainer, which can get pretty expensive. This is the perfect app because it is like having your own personal trainer within your tiny iPhone. The exercises are really clear and easy to do because they have pictures and detailed instructions. There also is a little feature within the app that allows you to track all of your progress. I am absolutely loving this app because it is helping me mix up my workouts so that I'm not bored anymore, especially since there is so much to choose from!

by Erin
