When sending in your device, please be aware that the amount of time it takes for us to address each device varies, but we strive for quick turnaround times in all cases. Once the camera has been removed, you can still access the camera (the icon does not go away), but if you attempt to take a picture all you will see is a black screen as if the lens cap was left on a traditional camera. The small circular piece of glass that protects the camera lens is not removed or modified in any way.
